한양대학교 ERICA 캠퍼스 일행, 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 방문
1월 26일 한양대학교 ERICA 캠퍼스 이기형 산학협력부총장을 포함한 교원 4명이 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스와 상호협력 방안을 논의하기 위해 방문했다. 한양대학교 ERICA 산학협력단은 지역 R&D 및 산학협력의 거점으로서 학연산클러스터 기반 신산업을 창출하고 실용 연구중심대학으로서 역할을 다하고 있다.
이번 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 방문을 통해 ▲첨단바이오 연구 협력 ▲글로벌 공동연구 확대 ▲첨단산업 미래 인재 양성확대 ▲해외대학·첨단산업 현장교육 프로그램 등을 협력해나갈 예정이다.
한양대학교 ERICA 캠퍼스 이기형 산학협력부총장은 “겐트대학교 본교와 한양대학교 의대가 함께 건강한 초콜릿을 초기 단계부터 공동 개발했으면 좋겠다”며 “향후 산업을 확장하여 마린유겐트와도 공동 연구 협력을 하기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장은 “겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 산학협력단은 초콜릿 사업, 미세조류를 활용한 탄소저감 사업을 진행하고 있다”며 “향후 글로벌 공동연구, 해양바이오 환경에너지 분야 교류 추진을 통해 기술사업화와 글로벌 인재 양성 협력을 희망한다고 밝혔다.”
한편 겐트대학교는 1817년 벨기에 겐트시에 설립된 유럽 명문 종합대학 연구기관으로 세계적 수준의 생명공학과 농업 관련 기술을 보유하고 있다. 국내에는 2014년 9월 산업통상자원부와 인천시 공동프로젝트를 통해 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스를 개교했으며, 분자생명·식품·환경공학 분야에서 세계적 수준의 연구력과 국제적인 네트워크를 갖추고 있다.

Four faculty members visited the Ghent University Global Campus on January 26 to talk about mutual collaboration measures. Vice President Lee Ki-hyung of Industry-Academia Collaboration at Hanyang University's ERICA Campus was among them. anyang University's ERICA Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation serves as a base for regional R&D and industry-academic collaboration, creating new industries based on academic-research-industrial clusters and achieving its goal as a practical research-oriented university.
Through this visit to the Ghent University Global Campus, we hope to collaborate in ▲ cutting-edge bio research; ▲ expanding global joint research; ▲ future talent training in high-tech industries; ▲ field education programs in overseas universities and high-tech industries.
"I hope that Ghent University and Hanyang University School of Medicine are able to collaborate on healthy chocolate from the early stages,” stated Lee Ki-hyung, vice president of industry-academic cooperation at Hanyang University's ERICA Campus. "We look forward to conducting collaborative research cooperation with Marine Ugent and expanding the industry in the future,” he continued. He stated.
"The Ghent University Global Campus Industry-Academic Collaboration Group is carrying out a chocolate business and a carbon reduction project using microalgae,” stated Han Tae-jun, president of Ghent University Global Campus. "Through future worldwide collaborative research and exchanges in the marine bio, environmental, and energy fields, we will pursue technology commercialization. We conveyed our desire for collaboration in fostering talent worldwide,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Ghent University is a prestigious European university research facility that was founded in 1817 in Ghent, Belgium, and is home to cutting-edge innovations in both biotechnology and agriculture. In the areas of molecular life, food, and environmental engineering, the Ghent University Global Campus in Korea, which was established in September 2014 as a result of a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy and Incheon City, has outstanding research capabilities and global networks.
