Campus President Taejun Han Presents Vision for “Global Talent and the Future of Education”

- Keynote at the 2026 Incheon International Media Conference, followed by a special lecture at Sebasi
- Proposes changes for universities, cities and education: “The sea has no passport,” “Our children already have wings”

Taejun Han, President of Ghent University Global Campus, will deliver the keynote address at the 2026 Incheon International Media Conference and speak at the IGC×Sebasi Special Lecture on the 15th at Incheon Global Campus, presenting his direction for nurturing global talent and the future of education.

At 10 a.m. that day, President Han will deliver the keynote address at the conference, held in the Small Auditorium of Incheon Global Campus, under the theme “A New Vision and Future Built Together with Global Universities.” He will present the conditions for education that nurtures talent and for a city where talent stays and returns. He will also discuss ways to connect Incheon’s marine resources, such as Jangbong Island laver and the tidal flats, to new science and industry, and will introduce the “Incheon Global Talent Circulation City 2035” vision, aimed at building a city where talent from around the world comes to gain strength and wants to return. President Han also plans to emphasize the value of marine research and the importance of international cooperation, stating, “The sea has no passport.”

At 6 p.m. the same day, President Han will give a lecture titled “Wings for Our Children” at the IGC×Sebasi Special Lecture, held in the Grand Auditorium of Incheon Global Campus. Under the theme “Learn Bold, Lead Global: Leaping Toward a Wider World,” he will point out the difference between “studying for entrance exams” and “education,” and discuss how elementary, middle and high school education can change only if universities change. He will also share examples from the education Ghent University Global Campus has provided over the past 10 years. President Han plans to urge, “Our children already have wings. We must give them the time and the opportunity to discover those wings.” The speakers at the event include, in addition to President Han, Juyoung Byun, CEO of the Incheon Global Campus Foundation; Heeyoung Noh, CEO and Brand Director of Hino Consulting Firm; Jaebung Choi, Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Sungkyunkwan University; and Jongsung Choi, Associate Professor at SUNY Korea.
