제3회 GUGC Career Connect_Meet our Graduates 행사 개최
지난 9월 20일, 졸업생과 재학생을 직접 연결해 진로 경험과 실무 지식을 공유하기 위한 '커리어커넥트_졸업생과의만남(Career Connect_Meet our Graduates )'행사가 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스에서 열렸다.
이번 행사는 사회 각계각층에서 활동하고 있는 동문 14명과 재학생 50여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐으며, 졸업생과 재학생은 자유로운 분위기 속에서 △졸업생 경험 공유, △재학생Q&A 및 멘토링, 그리고 △ 동문 네트워킹 및 전공 그룹별 간담회 순서로 진행됐다.
특히 졸업생들은 CJ제일제당, 한국화이자제약 등 글로벌 대기업 재직자들과 서울대(약학), 카이스트(경영공학), 유니버시티칼리지런던(UCL) 등 해외 및 국내 유명대학에서 석박사과정에 재학중인 다양한 인재들이 행사에 참석해 후배들을 위한 조언을 아끼지 않았다.
이규빈 졸업생은 “졸업한 선배들의 경험을 전달 받았고, 저도 후배들에게 제 경험을 공유하고 싶은 생각에 이번 행사에 참석했다”며 “겐트를 졸업한다면 충분히 자신감을 가지고 끝까지 도전하라”고 후배들에게 조언했다.
송지현 졸업생은 “’직업’을 목표로 삼기보다 ‘직무’를 목표로 삼아 보길 바란다”면서 “학교에서 제공하는 공모전, 인턴십 등 다양한 활동을 통해 인사이트와 네트워크를 만들어 나가면 분명히 도움이 될 것”이라고 말했다.
바우터 반히스(Mr. Wouter Vanhees) 총동문회장은 “동문들의 이야기를 들으며 재학생들이 더 넓은 시야와 새로운 가능성을 발견할 수 있다는 점이 특히 가치 있다고 생각한다”며 “이렇게 많은 동문들이 다시 학교를 찾아와 경험을 나누는 모습을 보니 매우 기쁘고, 앞으로도 이런 행사가 더 크게 성장하길 바란다”고 말했다.

3rd GUGC Career Connect_Meet our Graduates
On September 20, the “Career Connect_Meet our Graduates” event was held at Ghent University Global Campus to directly connect graduates with current students and provide opportunities to share career experiences and practical knowledge.
The event was attended by 14 alumni active in various fields of society and over 50 current students. It proceeded in a free and open atmosphere, including △experience sharing by alumni, △Q&A and mentoring for students, and △alumni networking and major-specific group discussions.
In particular, graduates working at global companies such as CJ CheilJedang and Pfizer Korea, as well as those pursuing master’s and doctoral programs at renowned domestic and international universities including Seoul National University (Pharmacy), KAIST (Management Engineering), and University College London (UCL), participated in the event and generously offered advice to their juniors.
Alumnus Kyubin Lee said, “I attended this event not only to receive insights from graduates but also because I wanted to share my own experiences with juniors,” adding, “If you graduate from Ghent, have confidence and keep challenging yourself until the end.”
Alumna Jihyun Song remarked, “I hope you set your goal not just as a ‘job’ but as a ‘role,’” and advised, “By taking part in various opportunities such as competitions and internships offered by the university, you will surely gain insights and build networks that will be helpful.”
Mr. Wouter Vanhees, President of the Alumni Association, said, “I find it especially valuable that students can discover a broader perspective and new possibilities by listening to the stories of alumni,” adding, “I am very pleased to see so many alumni return to campus to share their experiences, and I hope this event will continue to grow in the future.”
