겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스, 24년도 학위수여식 및 입학식 성료
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스(총장 한태준)가 2024년도 학위수여식 및 가을학기 입학식을 개최했다.
23일 열린 학위수여식에는 겐트대학교 벨기에 본교의 릭 반 드 발레 총장이 개교 10주년을 맞아 한국을 직접 방문해 학위를 전달했다.
한태준 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 총장은 축사를 통해 “올해는 개교 10주년을 맞이 학위 수여식이라 그 의미가 더 크다” 며 “졸업생들이 글로벌 인재로 거듭나 전세계 각 분야에서 발전을 위해 봉사하길 바란다” 고 강조했다.
이어 “개교 10주년 비전이 ‘Full of Potential’ 인 것처럼 모든 졸업생들이 도약과 발전의 가능성을 가지고 세계적 인재로 커 나가길 기대한다” 고 덧붙였다.
이날 학위수여식에는 학부모들은 물론, 황효진 인천시 정무부 시장, 프랑수와 봉땅 주한벨기에 전대사, 이민섭 이원다이애그노믹스 회장 등 200여명의 내외빈이 참석했다.
겐트 대학교는 1817년에 설립된 유럽 명문 종합대학교로써, 생명공학 및 식품학 분야에서 세계적인 기술 및 명성을 가지고 있다. 송도 글로벌캠퍼스는 2014년 개교해 올해 개교 10주년을 맞았다.
겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스 졸업생들의 취업률은 95%에 달하며, 졸업생들은 서울대를 비롯한 국내 최상위권 대학원과 유니버시티 칼리지 런던(UCL), 스위스 취리히 연방 공과대학교(ETH Zurich), 미국 코넬 대학교 등 세계 명문대학원에 진학하고 있다.
Ghent University Global Campus celebrates the completion of 2024 Fall commencement and matriculation ceremony
On the 23rd of August, Rick van de Walle, president of the Ghent University in Belgium, visited Korea in person to celebrate the 2024 Fall semester commencement and matriculation.
Taejun Han, President of Ghent University Global Campus, said in his congratulatory address, “This year’s ceremony is more meaningful as it marks the 10th anniversary of the GUGC,” and emphasized, “I hope that the graduates will become global talents who serve for all fields around the world."
He added, “Just as our 10th-anniversary vision is ‘Full of Potential,’ we hope that all graduates will grow into world-class talents with the potential for a leap forward and development.”
More than 200 domestic and foreign guests attended the ceremony, including Hwang Hyo-jin, Mayer of the Ministry of Political Affairs of Incheon, Francois and Bontemps, former ambassador of Belgium to Korea, and Lee Min-seop, chairman of Eone Diagnomics.
Ghent University, founded in 1817, is a prestigious European university with world-class technology and reputation in the fields of biotechnology and food science. Songdo Global Campus celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The employment rate of graduates of Ghent University global campus reaches 95%, and they go to top-tier graduate schools in and outside of Korea, including Seoul National University, University College London (UCL), Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich), and Cornell University in the United States.
