겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스, 베트남 하노이공과대와 MOU 체결
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스가 베트남 하노이 공과대학교와 글로벌 산·학협력 전략 파트너십을 구축했다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 산·학협력단 한태준 총장은 지난 30일 베트남 하노이공과대학교(Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HUST) 화생명대학(School of Chemistry & Life Sciences)과 국제연구교류 및 산·학협력을 골자로 한 양해각서(MOU)를 체결했다고 밝혔다.
양 대학은 이번 협약을 통해 대학 연구자 및 학생 교류를 통한 국제공동연구와 대한민국-벨기에-베트남을 연결하는 연구 협력 네트워크를 구성하기로 했다.
또한 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스는 하노이공대 화생명대학 연구자 교환연수를 지원해 양 대학간 실천적인 교류를 활성화할 방침이다.
특히 수질환경 정화 연구, 스마트팜 기술 적용 수생식물 및 카카오와 같은 유용작물 농업기술연구 등 다양한 생명기반 응용연구 등에 폭넓은 협력을 이어갈 예정이다.
국립하노이공과대학교 화생명대학 투 키손 대학원장은 “한국의 혁신과 벨기에의 유수한 학문적 역량이 연결된 겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스와 독창적인 국제공동연구 및 산학협력활동에 협력할 예정”이라며 “향후 연구자 교류 활성화 및 공동연구과제 추진 등 튼튼한 글로벌 협력 체계를 구축하길 희망한다”고 말했다.
겐트대 글로벌캠퍼스는 2022년도 ARWU 대학랭킹 세계 74위, 농림업(Agriculture & Forestry) 분야에서 23 QS 학문랭킹 세계 7위를 기록하는 등 생명과학 분야에서 학문적 우수성을 인정받고 있다.
한태준 총장은 “이번 협약이 양 대학의 글로벌 산·학협력 체계 구축을 한차원으로 끌어올리는 계기가 될 것”이라며 “향후 베트남-대학민국-벨기에를 연결하는 독창적인 국제 산·학협력 모델이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
Ghent University Global Campus signed an MOU with Hanoi University of Science and Technology
Ghent University Global Campus has established a global industry-academic cooperation strategic partnership with Hanoi University of Science and Technology in Vietnam.
On July 30th(Tue), Taejun Han, president of the Ghent University Global Campus industry-academic cooperation foundation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) on international exchange and industry-academic cooperation with the School of Chemistry & Life Sciences of Hanoi University (HUST) in Vietnam.
Through this agreement, the two universities formed a research cooperation network connecting Korea, Belgium, and Vietnam with international joint research through university researchers and student exchanges.
In addition, Ghent University Global Campus plans to support exchange training for researchers at the College of Chemical and Biological Sciences of Hanoi University of Science and Technology to promote practical exchanges between the two universities. In particular, it plans to continue extensive cooperation in various life-based applied research, such as water environment purification research, smart farm technology applied to aquatic plants, and agricultural technology research on useful crops such as cacao.
Thu Chi Son, Dean of the Graduate School of Chemical and Biological Sciences at the National University of Science and Technology in Hanoi, said, “We plan to cooperate in unique international joint research and industry-academia cooperation activities with the Ghent University Global Campus, where Korea’s innovation and Belgium’s leading academic capabilities are connected.” He added, “We hope to build a strong global cooperation system, including promoting exchanges of researchers and research projects.”
Ghent University Global Campus is recognized for its academic excellence in life sciences, ranking 74th in the world in the 2022 ARWU university rankings and 7th in the world in the 23 QS academic rankings in Agriculture and forestry.
President Taejun Han said, “This agreement will be an opportunity to take the establishment of a global industry-academic cooperation system between the two universities to the next level,” adding, “We expect it to become a unique international industry-academic cooperation model connecting Vietnam, the Republic of Universities, and Belgium in the future.”
