호라이즌 유럽(Horizon Europe) 대표단, 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 방문
지난 21일 Jerome Sicaire Serraglio EU 통상관 등 총 22개국, 총 34명의 호라이즌 유럽(Horizon Europe) 준회원국 과학기술 핵심 관계자들이 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스에 방문했다.
호라이즌 유럽은 유럽연합(EU)이 2027년까지 955억 유로(약 130조원)을 지원해 시행하는 연구혁신 분야 재정지원 프로그램이다. EU는 2027년까지 ‘호라이즌 유럽’을 중심으로 유럽 내 기술혁신을 가속화하며, EU 과학기술 리더십을 강화하려는 목적으로 호라이즌 유럽에 지원하고 있다.
이번 행사는 호라이즌 유럽 대표단을 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스에 초청하여 GUGC와 각 연구센터별 중점 사업을 소개하고, 향후 상호 지식 공유를 비롯한 협력 방안을 협의할 목적으로 기획되었다.
또한 이번 행사는 ▲겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장의 GUGC 소개 발표 ▲겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 각 연구센터들의 포스터발표 ▲전체 기념사진 촬영 등으로 구성되었다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장은 “유럽 국가에서 우수한 과학기술 역량을 보유하고 있는 대표단 여러분들이 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스를 찾아주셔서 영광으로 생각한다.”며 “향후 생명공학분야 최정상 대학인 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스와 다양한 협업을 통해 첨단·혁신기술 협력 강화 발전에 기여했으면 좋겠다”고 밝혔다.
The Horizon Europe Delegation visits Ghent University Global Campus
EU DG Trade Officer Jerome Sicaire Serraglio and a total of 34 representatives from the science and technology sectors of 22 Horizon Europe associate member states visited Ghent University's Global Campus on April 21.
Horizon Europe is a European Union (EU) funded program for innovative research with a budget of €95.5 billion by 2027. The EU is supporting Horizon Europe to accelerate technological innovation in Europe and reinforce the EU's scientific and technological leadership by 2027.
This event was organized to invite Horizon Europe delegates to Ghent University Global Campus and introduce the key projects of GUGC and each of its research centers, and to discuss future cooperation, including mutual intellectual exchange.
The event also consisted of ▲ an introduction to GUGC by Taejun Han, President of Ghent University Global Campus ▲ poster presentations by each research center of Ghent University Global Campus ▲ and a commemorative photo session.
Taejun Han, President of Ghent University Global Campus, said, "We are honored to welcome delegates from European countries with excellent scientific and technological capabilities to Ghent University Global Campus," adding, "We hope to contribute to the development of high-tech and innovative technology cooperation through various collaborations with Ghent University Global Campus, a top university in the field of biotechnology."
