겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장, 한국물학술단체연합회 연합회장상 수상
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장이 2월 27일(화)에 한국물학술단체연합회 연합회장상을 수상하였다. 한국물학술단체연합회는 물 관련 학술단체의 지원, 협력 및 공동조사연구를 통하여 물 관련 학문의 발전을 도모하여 국가발전에 기여함을 목적으로 하는 단체로, 한국물학술단체연합회장상은 물 관련 분야의 학술 및 기술 발전에 괄목할만한 공로를 인정하는 상이다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 한태준 총장은 “작년에 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 연구팀의 좀개구리밥을 이용한 수질오염진단법이 국내 수질환경기술 최초로 세계 ISO 표준 규격으로 제정되는 쾌거를 이루었다”며 “향후에도 수질오염진단을 위한 다양한 연구를 진행할 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
한편 한태준 총장은 해양바이오 산업을 30년 넘게 연구해온 1세대 전문가로서, 세계 최초로 파래를 이용한 해양오염 진단키트 발명, 해조류를 활용한 치매개선제 연구, 해조류 색소 유래 암 진단용 물질 개발, 해조류를 통한 수질오염 탐지 및 정화 연구, 해조류 유래 바이오차르 및 활성탄 개발, 갯벌 미세조류 블루카본을 활용한 기후변화 등 글로벌이슈 완화 등 다양한 연구를 수행하고 있다.
Taejun Han, Campus President of Ghent University Global Campus receives the association presidential award from Korea Federation of Water Science and Engineering Societies
On February 27th(Tues.) Taejun Han, Campus President of Ghent University Global campus was awarded the association presidential award from the Korea Federation of Water Science and Engineering Societies. The following federation is an association that contributes to national development by expanding studies related to water. This includes supporting other relevant research associations, and undergoing joint collaborative researches. The association presidential award is an award that certifies contributions made to studies and technological developments related to water science.
Taejun Han, Campus president of Ghent University Global campus stated “ Last year, a research team of Ghent University Global campus has accomplished the amazing achievement of having their water pollution diagnosis method, which uses lemna perpusilla, selected as the national ISO standard, which is an unprecedented case in Korea. And we plan to continue other diverse researches related to water pollution diagnosis.”
Taejun Han, Campus president of Ghent University Global campus is a 1st-generation expert who has researched Marine bio-industry for more than 30 years is now currently undergoing numerous researches such as invention of marine pollution diagnosis kit using green laver, solution to dementia using seaweed, substance for diagnosing cancer using seaweed pigments, detection and purification of water pollution using seaweed, development of biochar and activated carbon using seaweed, climate change using blue carbon of microalgae, etc.
