겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스, IGC 청소년 멘토링 업무 협약 체결
인천경제청과 인천시의회, 인천시교육청, 인천글로벌캠퍼스(IGC)운영재단, 글로벌캠퍼스 입주대학들이 멘토링 프로그램을 통한 인천 원도심 지역 사회공헌에 함께했다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스는 11일 송도국제도시 인천글로벌캠퍼스(IGC)운영재단에서 ‘IGC 청소년 멘토링 프로그램을 위한 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이날 협약식에는 한태준 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스 총장, 허식 시의회 의장, 도성훈 교육감, 김진용 청장. 박병근 IGC운영재단 대표, 아써 리 한국뉴욕주립대 총장, 로버트 매츠 한국조지메이슨대 대표, 그레고리 힐 유타대 아시아캠퍼스 대표 등이 참석했다.
멘토링 프로그램은 IGC 대학생이 멘토로서 인천지역 원도심 청소년들을 대상으로 교과 학습지도, 학교생활 및 진로 상담 등 멘토링 활동을 진행한다. IGC 입주대학은 대학생 멘토 선발을 지원하며, 시교육청은 해당 프로그램을 홍보하고, 인천경제청은 행정·재정적 지원을 하며, 시의회는 참여 멘토에 대한 인센티브 제공을 각각 맡는다.
겐트대학교 한태준 총장은 “겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스가 청소년 멘토링사업에 좋은 취지로 함께하게 되어 기쁘다”며 “인천 학생들이 국제적 역량을 가지는데 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.

[Ghent University Global Campus agrees on the IGC Mentoring Convention for teens]
❏ The Incheon Economic Zone Authority, Incheon Council, Incheon Board of Education, the Foundation of Incheon Global Campus and Global Campus universities have contributed to Incheon city by participating in the mentoring program.
❏ On the 11th, Ghent University Gloal Campus has revealed through the Foundation of Incheon Global Campus in Songdo International City that they have agreed on the ‘IGC Mentoring Convention for teens’.
❏ During the convention, the Dean of Ghent University Global campus Han Taejun, Chairman of the Incheon Council Heo Sik, Head of the board of education Do Seong Hun, Commissioner Kim Jin Yeong, Head of the IGC Foundation Park Byeong Geun, SUNY Korea dean Arthur Lee, GMU Korea representative Robert Matt and representative of U-Asia Campus Gregory Hill were present.
❏ The mentoring program consists of IGC university students becoming mentors for teenagers living in the city of Incheon and providing advice for education, school life and career activities. IGC universities are in charge of selecting the mentors while the Board of Education advertises the following program, the Incheon Economic Zone Authority provides administrative& financial support and the Incheon Council provides incentives to the participating mentors.
❏ The dean of Ghent University Han Tae Jun stated “I am very glad that the Ghent University Global campus is a part of a good-will project for mentoring teens, and we will do our best to help our pupils gain some international capabilities”.
