겐트대 동문 네트워킹 행사, 서울서 개최
각계각층 동문 100여 명 참석
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스가 겐트대학교 한국 동문회와 함께 15일, 서울 롯데타워에서 ‘겐트대학교 동문 네트워킹 행사’를 개최했다.
이번 행사는 아시아 지역 겐트대학교 동문 간의 교류 확대와 네트워크 강화를 목표로 마련됐으며, 한태준 총장, 브루노 얀스(Bruno Jans) 주한 벨기에 대사, 그리고 겐트대 동문과 교직원 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
행사는 우터 반헤스(Wouter Vanhees) 동문회장의 개회사, 브루노 얀스 주한 벨기에 대사의 축사, 한태준 총장의 환영사, 이어 분자생명공학과 15학번 김정택 집행위원의 동문회 향후 계획 발표 후 만찬과 네트워킹 세션 순으로 이어졌다.
한태준 총장은 환영사를 통해 “여러분이 학생일 때는 시험 준비나 조별 과제로 힘들었겠지만 지금은 직장, 가족, 그리고 지역 사회에서 큰 영향력을 발휘하고 있다”라며 “앞으로도 여러분의 여정에 겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스가 늘 함께하길 바란다”라고 말했다.
이번 행사를 준비한 김정택 동문(15학번, 분자생명공학 전공 / 메디맵바이오 Business Development팀)은 “이번 행사는 다양한 기수의 동문들이 처음 한자리에 모여 새로운 연결을 만들 수 있도록 준비한 네트워킹 중심 행사였습니다. 이 자리가 한국 내 Ghent University 동문 커뮤니티가 더 넓어지는 출발점이 되길 바랍니다.”라고 소감을 전했다.
행사에 참여한 이수민 동문(16학번, SK바이오사이언스 재직)은 “동문들과 다시 만나 각자의 공부, 직무에 대한 경험과 생각을 나눌 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리라고 생각한다”라며 “학교와 동문 네트워크의 소중함을 다시 느낄 수 있는 의미 있는 시간이었다”라고 말했다.
또한 행사에 참석한 한 동문(15학번, 분자생명공학 / Celltrion 연구관리팀)은 “동문회에 참석할 수 있는 기회가 주어져 감회가 새롭게 느껴지고, 동문들과 다양한 주제 및 경험을 교류할 수 있어서 유익한 시간이었습니다. 동문회를 기획해 주신 모든 분들께 감사드립니다.”라고 전했다.
겐트대학교 글로벌캠퍼스(Ghent University Global Campus)는 생명과학 및 바이오 분야에서 세계 30위권의 명성을 자랑하는 벨기에 겐트대학교의 인천 송도 소재 확장캠퍼스로 국내 유일의 유럽대학이다.
한편 캠퍼스는 2026학년도 신입생 모집을 지난 9월 1일부터 진행하고 있으며, 입학 관련 자세한 내용은 입학 홈페이지(admissions.ghent.ac.kr)에서 확인할 수 있다.

Ghent University Alumni Networking Event Held in Seoul
Over 100 alumni from various fields attended
Ghent University Global Campus, in collaboration with the Ghent University Korea Alumni Association, held the “Ghent University Alumni Networking Event” on the 15th at Lotte Tower in Seoul.
The event was organized to expand exchanges and strengthen networks among Ghent University alumni in the Asia region. It was attended by President Tae-Jun Han, Bruno Jans, Belgian Ambassador to Korea, as well as approximately 100 alumni and faculty members of Ghent University.
The program included an opening address by Wouter Vanhees, President of the Alumni Association, a congratulatory speech by Ambassador Bruno Jans, a welcome speech by President Tae-Jun Han, followed by a presentation on the Alumni Association’s future plans by Kim Jeong-taek, a 2015 Molecular Life Sciences alumnus and Executive Committee member. The event concluded with a dinner and networking session.
In his welcome speech, President Tae-Jun Han said, “While you may have faced challenges such as exams and group projects as students, you are now making significant contributions to your workplaces, families, and communities. I hope Ghent University Global Campus will continue to be with you throughout your journey.”
Kim Jeongtek (Class of 2019, Molecular Biotechnology / Business Development, Medimab Bio), who helped organize the event, said, “This event was designed as a networking-focused gathering to bring together alumni from different cohorts for the first time and create new connections. I hope this serves as a starting point for a broader Ghent University alumni community in Korea.”
Alumni participant Lee Soomin (Class of 2020, SK Bioscience) shared, “It was meaningful to reconnect with fellow alumni and exchange experiences and insights about our studies and careers. It reminded me of the importance of both the university and the alumni network.”
Another participant, an alumnus (Class of 2023, Molecular Biotechnology / Research Management, Celltrion), said, “It was a truly rewarding experience to attend the alumni event, reconnect with fellow alumni, and share diverse experiences and perspectives. I am grateful to everyone who organized this event.”
Ghent University Global Campus is an extension campus of Belgium’s Ghent University, located in Songdo, Incheon. It is the only European university in Korea and ranks among the top 30 globally in life sciences and biotechnology.
