Job Purpose

Ghent University Global Campus is seeking an experienced professional to join the expanding team on the campus in Korea as Marketing and PR Officer. The position holder will work in close collaboration with the Deputy President and Vice President of Administrative Affairs, as well as with Admission and Recruitment Services, other administrative units to deliver high quality Marketing and PR campaigns.

 

You will work towards marketing and public relations KPIs through:

 

  • Marketing and Public Relations– The content development, coordination and execution of promotional events in conjunction with admission and recruitment service office members and campus management. Liaise as the main contact point between the campus and external agencies for developing marketing collaterals.

 

  • Develop and present innovative ideas to the management for building brand awareness and positive publicity for the campus.

Job Position

 

This role will provide operational support in delivering the marketing , and promotional plan, and all marketing related activities of Ghent University Global Campus. Position holder, requires to implement marketing, advertising, PR campaigns effectively and efficiently monitor the impact of campaigns and constantly improving the return on marketing investment (ROI). A thorough understanding of social media, print media, content and copywriting (English and Korean) is essential for the role as the selected person will have to liaise with media agencies, advertising and publishing vendors to develop marketing materials for the campus.

Selected candidate will be based in the Admission and Recruitment Service Office, and reporting to the Deputy President and Vice President. Marketing and Public Relation Officer need to involve in promotional and recruitment activities depending on the departmental requirement time to time.

You will have a highly professional approach to the admission and public related tasks, with a focus on excellent customer service skills.

The successful candidate will be able to perform independently and also work closely with the admission and recruitment service office colleagues, and produce in-depth analysis, and reports about the marketing and promotional data analysis. The right candidate is expected to enhance and contribute positively to the overall ambience of the working environment of the admissions and recruitment office, and GUGC by respecting the other colleagues, and effective communication.

 

Job Description

 

• Handle the overall marketing and communication channels of the Ghent University Global Campus in line with the University marketing and recruitment strategy.

• Create and develop marketing materials (i.e. brochures, leaflets, banners) including the digital media (i.e. e-newsletters, social media, and video). This involve working with external agencies and also internally with the campus management, office units and faculty departments.

• Contribute and write press releases, case studies, contents for marketing material. Coordinate with admission and faculty departments to gather relevant information and compile up-to-date information on marketing channels and materials of the campus.

• Involve in organizing information sessions, open house, and education fairs on campus and off campus.

• Along with the Recruitment and marketing staff, attend and conduct presentations at high schools.

• Develop and maintain a network of media and public relation contacts specific to higher education to increase the reach and impact of marketing efforts.

• Maintain and update the campus official website and other social media channels periodically.

• Work closely with the other University partners at the Incheon global campus in joint-marketing and promotional events.

• Continuously revise and asses marketing and communication channels to evaluate the optimization of marketing budget.

• Prepare present market trend reports, market data analysis of the campaigns conducted to the management, and make recommendations for the optimization of marketing budget.

• Produce regular performance report to the campus management.

• To carry out any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post as agreed with the campus management.

 

Required Skills

 

  • A recognized university degree (Any discipline)

  • Fluent in English and Korean (overseas education is a plus) – Majority of the staff and Professors are non-Korean speakers and therefore mode of communication will be English

    • Good presentation skills coupled with multi-tasking ability

    • Sound knowledge about the Korean higher education system and high schools is a plus

    • Average of 5 years of relevant industry-related experience

    • Good written and oral communication skills in English and Korean

    • Strong organizational and project management skills

    • A pro-active working attitude

    • A strong sense of responsibility

    • A great involvement and strong working ethics

    • The ability to work independently and to function in a team

    • Willingness to work flexible working hours’ time to time, and weekend work may be requires in case of major school events (recuperation days will be provided according to Korean labor standards)

 

Conditions of Service-Summary

 

  • Number of positons-1

  • This is a permanent full-time position with initial 6 months’ probation period

  • Work hours: 9am – 6pm; weekend work may be required in case of major school events (recuperation days will be provided)

  • Accommodation-Dormitory is available and offered at a discount; not covered by the university
